ABOUT OUR SCHOOLS
In a country where many adults have only a 1st or 2nd-grade education, the opportunity to attend a private school for a few years can be transformational.
We provide kids with an education so they can realize their economic and intellectual potential. We also teach them the Word of God and empower them to read it for themselves.
Haiti has made tremendous strides in education over the past few decades. In the 1980’s only 35% of Haitian adults could read. Today, around 61% of adults can read and over 80% of young people are literate. Around 90% of education in Haiti is provided by private schools like ours, and we’re proud to be a part of the solution.
The kids in our schools don’t have a luxurious learning environment; a student-teacher ratio of 50 or 60 to 1 is common. Most also pay some school fees to allow us to educate as many children as we do. However, these kids crowd into our schools because education is an opportunity that they truly appreciate.
