Housing for Flood Victims

Almost 4,000 people in the Fonds-Verette area alone had their homes destroyed when recent flooding completely wiped out that town and devastated the surrounding area. This "river bed" is where the town of Fonds-Verette used to stand ... the church, restaurants and many houses were completely washed away.

With your help, GVCM hopes to contribute 50 homes for these flood victims. We are looking for 1,000 friends to donate at least $50 each to build these homes.

Housing Construction Details

We are able to build small two-room homes with a porch using concrete blocks, sheet metal and wood. The estimated cost for materials and contractor wages to build 50 of these houses is approximately $83,000.

Our goal is to find 1,000 friends who are willing to donate at least $50 each to build these homes.

A plate will be made with your name so that the beneficiaries can be reminded that you cared for them each time they they enter the home.

We also hope that you may be able to join us on a mission trip to Haiti to help build the houses. We will also be combining our efforts with the Haitian Christian Mission, since they have a base in the proximity of Fonds-Verette.
